Description

The VP of Finance is a key member of the senior management team, reporting to a Company Partner. The VPoF will be hands-on and have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities of the company. This includes direct responsibility for accounting, finance, strategic planning, new business analysis and negotiations, investor communications, partnership compliance and financing. The VPoF will lead the financial vision and implementation of the company with the Company's partners. The candidate should be extremely diligent with a relentless drive to identify and implement solutions that achieve the greatest results.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides leadership in the development and continuous evaluation of short and long-term strategic financial objectives.
  • Create and maintain an environment and culture that serves to attract, retain and develop successful associates
  • Ensure timely and accurate compilation, distribution and analysis of financial statements, forecasts and other analytics/tools needed to ensure efficient company operations.
  • Take hands-on lead position of developing, implementing, and maintaining efficient accounting, payroll and financial systems, providing optimized support to the individual business entities. Create and implement more efficient processes, standard operating policies and procedures.
  • Direct, evaluate and oversee all aspects of the Finance and Accounting department, and its' staff (both their individual and team development) - ensuring optimal performance focused on continued improvement.
  • Evaluate and advise on the impact of short, medium and long range financial planning, introduce new programs/ strategies and regulatory actions.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with senior management; identify needs and recommend business solutions.
  • Provide senior management with advice on the financial implications of business activities and their efficient operations.
  • Manage processes for financial forecasting, budgets and consolidation and reporting to the Company
  • Provide recommendations to enhance financial performance and business opportunities.
  • Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.
  • Evaluate and plan with Partners on tax strategies - manage various tax filings throughout the year
  • Enhance annual and long-range Business Plan and Key Performance Indicators for the company and business entities with company leaders.
  • Evaluate and aid in selection of all Company insurance plans (business and health)
  • Vendor management

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

The desired candidate should have experience in a senior Finance/Accounting role in a regional or corporate capacity, preferably within the restaurant industry. The desired candidate will have a minimum of eight to ten years of executive-level financial management experience and a minimum of a four-year degree in accounting or finance, an advanced degree is preferred. While maintaining a long term strategic vision the candidate should also possess a firm grasp and control of the short-term aspects of all financial driven activities, and have the capability to be hands on when needed. Strong written and spoken skills necessary for presentation, and effective communication is critical. The candidate should possess notable technology knowledge and capacity for managing integration. They must be able to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously with a willingness to speak-up, contribute and strongly advocate their own creative ideas and opinions while being open to other viewpoints, both up and down the organization's levels.

As an integral member of the company's Leadership Team, the candidate must exemplify the highest standards of honesty, integrity and discretion. The individual should be highly confident of their abilities and be considered a detail-oriented person who can tackle complex assignments. The candidate should be highly financially numerate and analytical. They will need to be a consummate team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills up and down the organizational chart. The candidate must be a leader, directing towards a common vision, a true representation of the Company's values - with balance of assertiveness and open-mindedness.
