Description

JOB SUMMARY:

  • Responsible for daily interaction in a professional manner with internal and external customers.
  • Maintain storefront inventory and understand the insurance eligibility and coverage for client’s benefits.
  • Coordinate client information accurately and completely.
  • Completes referral process at initial intake/ referral sources - will process orders in a timely, accurate manner and completes required documentation.
  • Responsible for registration of patient information, data entry and maintaining patient/client medical records.
  • Responsible for admissions and discharges in the software system.
  • Perform over the counter sales in POS system, handle cash transactions efficiently and accurately and can perform the end of the day cash account balance.
  • Monitors HME inventory and office supply levels and places appropriate orders for supplies and equipment.
  • Performs fittings for diabetic shoes and verifies insurance eligibility and establishes customer records and ensures that all client information and records are current and complete for reimbursement.
  • Interacts with patient or family in a professional manner and provides explanation regarding products and insurance coverage.
  • Interacts with team and is a resource to coworkers.
  • Provides and maintains orthopedic bracing EXOS fittings; accessibility to expertise and resource to orthopedic office referrals.
  • Performs all other duties assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Greets customers upon entrance of store.
  • Maintains the store front's organization.
  • Assists customers with insurance, products and equipment.
  • Answers phone promptly, runs cash register, able to correctly and accurately count money, balance cash drawer, product and equipment knowledge necessary.
  • Certified diabetic shoe fitter - must complete required educational course.
  • Certified fitter for exos bracing.

EXPECTED BEHAVIORS:

  • Follow Patients First Behavioral Commitment, AIDET and customer service training.
  • Communicates clearly and effectively with associates and administration. Must have good communication skills, relate well to others and be detail oriented.
  • Follow all policies and procedures applicable to the organization and department.
  • Report any emergency situations to the Director.
 
Position Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Previous experience with healthcare and home medical equipment preferred.
  • Mandatory Annual Continuing Education: Customer Service, Fire and Safety, Confidentiality-HIPAA, Infection Control, Corporate Compliance.
  • Annual Unit Specific Competencies, and all education required by regulatory, accreditation bodies and/or Hancock Regional Hospital.
