Valley Community Services Board is an equal opportunity employer and a drug free workplace.   Open Date 6/6/2022   Close Date 7/6/2022   Position Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant - Sign-On Bonus!   Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time   Exempt/Non-Exempt Non-Exempt   Shift Days   Req Number NUR-22-00001   Number of Openings 1   Number Filled 0   Description Valley Community Services Board (VCSB) is looking for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Medical Services Team!  Under the direction of our Medical Director the NP/PA is responsible for assessment and psychiatric treatment of outpatient clients who have a wide range of mental illness. Benefits Flexible work schedule. Hybrid work environment. Health insurance as low as $21.16/month for individuals. Family and dependent plans are also available. Sign-on bonus of $5,000.00, included in full with the first paycheck. Nine paid holidays. Accrue up to 20 days of paid time off (PTO) per year from year one. PTO is immediately available upon accrual. Participation in the Virginia Retirement System. $3,500.00 and 40 hours of leave for continuing education annually Reimbursement for Virginia Licensure Fees. Malpractice insurance provided at no cost.  Essential Functions Provides initial evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing support for individuals with psychiatric conditions. Provide medication monitoring, prescribing medications as indicated, adjusting dosages, and monitoring for response and side effects. Coordinates care with other members of the treatment team as well as outside medical providers. Works with an interdisciplinary team of professionals to administer the best care for those patients needing not only medical therapy but behavior health services as well. Provide education regarding illness and prognosis to assist with clarification of patient and family goals of care and support development of a comprehensive care plan. Complete full and appropriate documentation to support professional billing for services. Maintain up to date knowledge base in provision of psychiatric treatment, including psychopathology, psychopharmacology, psychotherapy, and psychosocial treatments through reading and other continuing education activities. ensure that individuals receive the clinically appropriate level of care as established by the client’s Individual Service Plan. Knowledge of: Basic psychopathology of substance use disorders and co-occurring disorders Treatment options spanning biological treatments with sound knowledge of psychopharmacology. Psychotherapy/counseling and psychosocial intervention. Skills pertaining to: Psychiatric interviewing and diagnosis Providing psychosocial intervention Advocating for and empowering individuals Work effectively with clients with substance use and a wide range of co-occurring disorders. Ability to: Maintain the highest integrity in working with controlled substances and drug paraphernalia. Use good judgement in crisis situations by implementing safety controls with ability to maintain professional behavior while taking control of the situation. Develop genuine and therapeutic relationships with consumers. Complete required case documentation.     Position Requirements Requirements Prescriber must be licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
