Effective leadership, oversight, planning and management of a special projects team that is focused on design and technical excellence, profitability and positive client relationships for projects under +/-$3M in construction value. EYP's Special Projects team will be an integrated, multi-disciplinary group, and will focus on projects across multiple sectors. The work will include reports, feasibility studies, programming, strategy development and smaller full design projects. We anticipate the projects taken on by this team will be fast-paced, and the team, including its leader, will need to be facile and adaptable in order to accommodate different client and project needs. Project types could include small to medium scale buildings, renovations and specialty services for EYP's Government, Higher Ed and S&T clients. Responsible for managing and insuring equitable distribution of assignments to a team of between 10-15 Architects, Interior Designers and Engineers with annual combined fees of up to $8M.
Work collaboratively in a cross-discipline environment to produce integrated project documents, and insure integrated design approaches and solutions
Responsible for performance of quality control checks process and technical reviews.
Consistently strive to improve technical quality of work product by keeping abreast of new technologies, changes in building codes, and advances in the industry.
Oversee client relationships working with the day to day client contacts.
Develop project goals that support firm objectives and be accountable for those goals being met including profitability, design, technical quality, schedule and client satisfaction
Working with team leads to monitor and update budgets, workplans and schedules
Prepare and implement corrective action plans to ensure project goals are met
Participate in the marketing process on project proposals, interviews, fee proposals and other business development efforts
In collaboration with the Project Executive and Director of Operations, oversee the preparation of and help to negotiate and maintain Owner/Architect and Architect/Consultant contracts and additional services.
Oversee consultant management by team members, including processing of consultant invoices
Work with local office leadership (Ops, PEx's, PD's) to forecast staffing projections and the assignment of work to the special projects team
Be responsible for supplying timely 3-6-month revenue forecasts
Be responsible for monthly Earnings/Billings execution and Aged Account Collections
Share responsibility for coordinating risk management issues with Director of Operations
Use technology and methodologies to create innovative approaches to building design
Consistently strive to improve technical quality of work product by keeping abreast of new technologies, changes in building codes, and advances in the industry
Ensure that each set of documents has the appropriate person identified to stamp and seal construction documents in accordance with firm policy
