Salary $42,096-$52,199 DOQ  
Position Requirements

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

Requires an associate degree in Health, Physical Education, Recreation, or related field; supplemented by one (1) year of experience as a tennis professional; 3.0+ experience based on national tennis guidelines, experience in training tennis staff and/or players. Preferred experience with pro shop/retail experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must possess and maintain CPR and First Aid certifications.
  • May be required to possess and maintain additional certifications depending on area of assignment.
  • Requires a valid state driver’s license with acceptable driving history.

Description

Position Summary: This classification provides lead guidance and direction for the day-to-day activities and staff at an assigned Tennis Center.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this position. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the position as necessary.

  • Lead and coordinate daily work activities of assigned crew or co-workers; assist in supervising recreation and fitness activities; including but not limited to tennis activities; In conjunction - planning and implementing recreational programs, organizing tennis association, instructional programs, and special events.
  • Assists in coordinating facility use: schedules facility rentals; prepares for scheduled events; sets up facility for sports courts; decorates for special events; collects related fees; maintains related documentation.
  • Conducts general customer service and administrative duties; receives and responds to inquiries, concerns, and complaints of citizens regarding recreation programs, policies, and personnel; attends meetings and assists customers.
  • Processes participant registrations; registers participants for recreation programs; collects and receipts program fees; prepares deposits; gathers funds; verifies counts; prepares deposit statements and maintains related documentation.
  • Ensures adherence to established safety procedures; monitors work environment and use of safety equipment to ensure safety of employees and other individuals.
  • Ensures the maintenance of the recreation center and grounds; assists in conducting regular inspections of facilities and grounds; maintains a list of required maintenance and repairs.
  • Operates various equipment and supplies in order to complete work assignments; operates and maintains a motor vehicle, scoreboard, and other equipment; operates a personal computer to enter, retrieve, review or modify data.

Additional Functions:

  • Performs other related duties as required.
  • Act as the Tennis Center Supervisor in absence of the same.
