Tennis Center Supervisor 

Salary $46,411 – $57,550 DOQ  
Position Requirements

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

Requires an associate degree in Health, Physical Education, Recreation, or related field; supplemented by three (3) years of experience as a tennis professional, 4.5+ experience based on national tennis guidelines, and experience in training tennis staff and/or players. Experience with pro shop/retail experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must possess and maintain CPR and First Aid certifications.
  • May be required to possess and maintain additional certifications depending on area of assignment.
  • Requires a valid state driver’s license with acceptable driving history.

Description

Position Summary: This classification provides lead guidance and direction for the day-to-day activities and staff at an assigned Tennis Center.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this position. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the position as necessary.

  • Oversees and supervises the activities of subordinate staff and volunteers.
  • Trains employees in assigned areas of responsibility; plans and conducts in-service training programs.
  • Oversee records on program activities, attendance, and other pertinent information.
  • Assists with maintenance of tennis facility, to include, inspecting condition of facilities and grounds, performing general housekeeping and maintenance duties, and submitting work orders for maintenance or repairing of major items.
  • Manages fee collection, accounting activities, and program registration in assigned areas; reviews, records, and files to ensure proper accounting and documentation consistent with department's policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the planning, scheduling and implementation of a variety of tennis programs, activities, and special events as needed.
  • Works collaboratively with other departments; confers regularly with other supervisors and managers.
  • Conducts quarterly reports and ensures programs are properly maintained for optimal safety.
  • Conducts research to identify programs of value and interest to the community; evaluates program effectiveness and viability; makes recommendations on new programs or modifications of existing programs to meet community needs.
