JOB TITLE: Guest Services Agent

POSITION SUMMARY 

The Guest Services Agent is responsible for maximizing guest satisfaction from arrival through to departure by handling all guest inquiries in a friendly, accurate and professional manner.  

The agent serves our guests efficiently and effectively with a courteous disposition and in accordance with the standards set out by the Sawridge Inn & Conference Centre.  

The Guest Services Agent maintains a high level of service, integrity and hospitality at all times. 

 

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Checking in/out guests in a friendly and timely manner
  • Registering all arriving guests while adhering to the company policies and ensuring guest satisfaction
  • Assisting guests at arrival and departure as well as during their stay
  • Answering phones
  • Transmitting & receiving messages using a telephone switchboard
  • Processing reservation and cancellation requests
  • Balancing payments and postings to house accounts
  • Maintaining in-house guest accounts
  • Keep records of room availability & guest accounts using the Five Star Property Management System
  • Compute bills, collect payments, & make change for guests' payments
  • Accurately posting any and all related charges to guest and group accounts
  • Answer any inquiries regarding rates, hotel facilities and Town amenities
  • Understand, Participate in and execute emergency procedures as necessary
  • Perform other related duties as directed by the Guest Services Manager
 
Position Requirements

The successful candidate will possess the following skills:

  • Must be able to read, write & speak English
  • Excellent verbal & written skills
  • Friendly, helpful personality
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office an asset
  • Must be comfortable working with computers
  • Able to give attention to detail and handle multiple tasks simultaneously & efficiently
  • Strong communication and decision-making skills
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Knowledge of basic clerical and administrative procedures and systems such as word processing, managing records & filing
  • Must be able to work flexible hours
  • Must have at least 1-2 years of experience in this role/similar.
