Respite Access Facilitator 

About the Organization York Support Services Network (YSSN) is a non-profit agency providing streamlined access for mental health and addictions services as well as case management and community crisis response services within York Region and South Simcoe. It is a designated administrator of the Developmental Services Ontario program and offers access for adults to developmental services in central east region.


One Full-time Permanent Position

The Respite Access Facilitator is responsible for working with families to develop respite plans and provide service coordination for respite on behalf of individuals with a developmental disability. Tasks will include assessment of needs, consultation, the development and coordination of respite plans, processing of respite funding applications and navigation of the service system.

A hybrid remote work arrangement is available for this position

Position Requirements


  • Post secondary education in the Human Services field
  • Minimum three years related experience in a community social service setting
  • Experience working with children and adults with developmental disabilities
  • Knowledge of community resources available within York Region is required
  • Second Language skills and an understanding of cultural diversity are considered assets
  • The successful applicant will be required to provide a police clearance that meets agency standards
  • A valid driver’s license, business use insurance and regular use of a reliable vehicle are required for this position.
