Description

Job Summary:

Ready to be part of a DoD-wide, cutting edge defensive cyber capability that is making a huge impact on the security of the DoD community?  If you’re interested in leveraging your systems administration and engineering expertise to support and revolutionize a critically important enterprise boundary defense system for the DoD, we have the ideal role for you to start your new career path at VSolvit!

You will get the chance to leverage your engineering expertise and improve your skills while performing policy development, planning, research, engineering, architecture improvement, and performance analysis while helping to maintain, improve, and ultimately revolutionize the system to help vastly improve the cybersecurity of DoD networks.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform system engineering and administration for DoD Boundary defense systems.
  • Perform or direct routine updates, patching, and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
  • Monitor availability & usage. Respond to outages, take corrective action, and issue outage reports.
  • Support engineering, design, and implementation of new and/or improved systems.
  • Design, develop, engineer, and integrate solutions to security requirements.
  • Perform network and system testing.
  • Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs), implementation plans and other supporting documentation.
  • Recommend information assurance/security solutions to support customers’ requirements.
 
Position Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

Expertise in Linux system administration and engineering with strong experience in one or more of the following:

---Deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting VMware VCenter and Horizon, Nutanix, and Linux systems.

---Deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting Microsoft Active Directory to include integration with Centrify or other similar linux tools.

---Utilizing SaltStack and other tools to automate configuration management, software updates and other system administration tasks.

---Managing system via iDRAC, Avocent IP KVM and Raritan IP KVM tools in a lights out data center environment

---Automating implementation and testing of hardened system configurations

  • 4+ years of System Engineering or Systems Administration experience on Linux OS
  • Familiarity with DISA STIGs, FISMA, IAVMs, SCAP
  • IAM or IAT Level II Certification (e.g., CASP, CySA+, CISSP, etc.)
  • Active Secret clearance

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with OWL Cyber Defense servers or one-way diodes is a plus.
  • Experience with NiFi or other data transformation and transportation is a plus.
  • Experience with Containers, such as Docker or Kubernetes, and container orchestration.
  • Experience with phpIPAM, LibreNMS, and JIRA.
