SUMMARY

The Sales and Marketing Manager will oversee allocations, pricing, and marketing projects, while confirming they are produced, implemented, and coordinated with Opus One Sales Force, Distributors, and accounts. Additionally, they will manage the Shipping & Receiving Department, Marketing Supervisor and Sales Analyst to ensure efficiency and high level of service both internally and externally. This role will work directly with the IS department to guide data reporting – related to project development and implementation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Other duties may be assigned.

Program Management (70%)

    • Oversee all domestic allocations and shipments. Coordinate all communications through data entry position on all purchase orders and authorizations from/with distributors and LDC ensuring accuracy and timeliness
    • Manage Allocation App and the RSM integration.
    • Manage Tiering System and RSM upkeep.
    • Oversee development, design and execution of Allocation Invitations and Distributor Education Kits.
    • Monitor product inventories compared to market allocation and facilitate package rework.
    • Manage, coordinate, and oversee all requests made to the Sales and Marketing Department by sales force, distributors, retail/restaurant accounts as it relates to, but not limited to, distribution of P.O.S. materials, event support, allocations, and direct winery accounts.
    • Communicate with Opus One Sales Force, cross departmental Opus One Winery departments ensuring they are up to date on all data points for account information concerning product availability and inventory management.
    • Develop and coordinate the integration of Data Warehouse, VIP, and Janus information.
    • Oversee Domestic Wholesale workings in Business Central.
    • Create presentations for National Sales Meeting and Global Sales Meeting with VP of Sales and Marketing.
    • Work with Regional Sales Managers to support in-market sales and marketing programs.
    • Host Top Tier domestic trade guests at Opus One Winery.

Product Management (10%)

    • Manage annual packaging and special pack requirements. Communicate with Production Department, Shipping Department and Domestic Vice President of Sales & Marketing to ensure packaging is on schedule.
    • Maintain domestic allocations and F.O.B. price sheets and manage the distribution of information to the sales force, compliance department and distributors.
    • Provide support and coaching for the Opus One Brand Team.

Oversee Order Processing/Transaction Processing to be handled by the Sales Analyst facilitating the following: (10%)

  • Process orders and invoices for Opus One and arrange shipments for domestic and export distributors.
    • Research invoicing and requests for information.
    • Research and investigate problem invoices and shipments.

Administrative Functions (10%)

  • Develop, implement, and manage Business Central/ VIP/ Power BI for marketing information and generate reporting as needed.
  • Prepare and develop monthly reports for the month-end close and Pulse Reports.
  • New item management in VIP.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Sales Analyst, Marketing Supervisor and Shipping & Receiving Supervisor.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education and/or Experience

BA/BS in Business Administration or related field, a minimum 5 years of wine industry experience, strong management background and a thorough understanding of the domestic and international wine market is preferred.

Skills

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook). Must be proficient in handling many different responsibilities at one time. Understanding of customer relations is critical; excellent communication skills; ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, commissions, and percentages; ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to manage and lead effectively, motivate and inspire creativity and teamwork.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and/or fingers, to handle or feel. The employee frequently is required to sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee must have the ability to sit for up to six (6) hours. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, talk or hear, and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
