Share Email Opening Title Nuclear Weapons SME  Category Other   Description The Nuclear Weapons SME will directly support the Nuclear Technology and Integration Directorate, Nuclear Surety and Certification Division (AFNWC/NTS). This division is responsible for guiding and managing the Air Force's Nuclear Certification Program, independently assessing Nuclear Surety, and executing Compatibility Certification of all Air Force and Allied air-delivered nuclear capabilities. Additional Responsibilities Include, but are not Limited To: Provide assessments of new technology efforts for Air Delivered vehicles as well as assisting with developing requirements for future technologies. Combine knowledge of Nuclear Surety and Certification to provide support of all Air Force and Allied air-delivered nuclear capabilities. Comfortable working on ill-defined problems with many variables. Assist with proposal development, if necessary. Perform other duties, as assigned.   Position Requirements Experience: Requires strong knowledge and understanding of DoD nuclear weapons policy, nuclear weapons physical security requirements and a background in analytical, administrative, programmatic, and planning support for nuclear weapons surety programs. Previous experience supporting acquisition and/or operation of strategic weapons systems. Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work in integrated Government/FFRDC/SETA teams. Ability to interact directly with senior Government management and to work autonomously in a program office environment. A demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and complete tasks on short timelines. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers. Minimum fourteen (14) – fifteen (15) or more years' experience with aircraft and/or Nuclear Certification experience. Experience with Auto-Cad; 3-D Modeling Software. Defense/DoD- Nuclear Industry background. Knowledge of Nuclear Surety Compliance Requirements. Five (5) + years professional engineering experience, including a technical background in a nuclear environment working in the Nuclear industry or having exposure to the nuclear environment through military or DOD/DOE preferred. Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, mathematics, or an appropriate technical discipline from a recognized institution. Other Required Skills & Abilities: Must be able to effectively communicate with customer and fulfill all duties and responsibilities as listed in the contract. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite including, but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook. COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement: COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement.
