The FirstLight Home Care Director of Business Development is responsible for all areas of operations and leadership of the FirstLight team and ensuring that all duties are operating effectively and efficiently. Excellent communication, problem-solving, decision-making and managerial skills are the foundation for success as this role is responsible for all activities, projects, and employees of the office.

Core Responsibilities Include:

  • Business Development and Financial savviness is key for this position. Proven success with targeting relationships, trending key statistics and using proven methods to enhance our business strategy is crucial.
  • Work proactively to predict and resolve all levels of issues. Consistently understanding and meeting the needs of our customers, recognizing special needs and recommending appropriate service levels and corresponding fees.
  • Understands and adheres to state and federal labor laws as they pertain to home care agencies.
  • Supervises, and assists at times, the Scheduler(s), Care Coordinator(s), and all other employees.
  • Oversee recruiting, hiring and onboarding of all staff.
  • Maintains personnel files in accordance with FirstLight policies and procedures including employee information such as personnel data, compensation, benefits, tax data, attendance, performance reviews, evaluations, and termination date and reason.
  • Participate in the quality assurance reviews and evaluations with other business lines.
  • Ensure all key information has been gathered and input correctly for each client.
  • Manages the caregiver payroll every two weeks and makes sure clients are billed for any applicable overtime.
  • Invoices all clients as scheduled and maintains accounts receivable and accounts payable.
  • Files and maintains all local tax filings.
  • Communicates effectively and regularly with staff and caregivers.
  • Understands and adheres to established FirstLight Home Care policies and procedures.
  • Provide backup coverage to key staff when necessary.
  • Minimal travel including overnight stay as necessary.
Position Requirements

Ideal candidate will offer:

  • Experience in home care or knowledge of the health care industry preferred.
  • Prior management experience.
  • Requires efficiency in computer skills including but not limited to scheduling programs and MS Office Suite (especially Excel, Outlook and Word).
  • Ability to carry out directions; read and write in a professional, accurate manner.
  • Must possess and demonstrate excellent communication, leadership and organizational skills and customer service techniques.
  • Must perform and manage multiple responsibilities concurrently without loss of focus.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure with autonomous decision-making.?
  • H.S. Diploma, GED, and some college or two years related experience and/or training preferred
