General Purpose

The Permit Expeditor works directly with the supervisors to initially review the construction documents in order to accurately prepare permit applications to be submitted to the appropriate municipality. Additionally, will be responsible for following the permit process with municipality in order to obtain final approvals. The permit expeditor will also perform minor revisions to the construction documents and other tasks deemed necessary for the progression of the current workloads and permitting process.

 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Lead site surveys and coordinate details with site owner with minimal supervision
  • Obtain all permit applications from municipalities
  • Compile permitting timelines
  • Compile all applicable permitting fees
  • Perform initial site investigation reports
  • Perform “red lined” revisions with minimal supervision
  • Coordinate all permit submission requirements
  • Perform preliminary reviews of own work
  • Responsible for maintaining timeframes and tracking spreadsheets as set forth by the manager for the project

Position Requirements

Experience:

  • Two (2) years of experience using AutoCAD or other related software used for developing traffic control plans and prints is preferred
  • TCS experience preferred
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year to year basis

Additional Requirements/Licenses/Certifications:

  • Possession of a valid State Driver’s License is required
  • Candidates must pass Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and pass a pre-employment drug screen
