Share Email Opening Title Therapist - Crisis Clinician  Description Wyandot BHN is seeking a dedicated Crisis Clinican that will provide admission evaluations, primarily for adults, with the possibility of providing evaluations and interventions for youth and/or adolescent individuals. Complete clinical assessments to determine the necessity of higher levels of care using the Kansas screening process and will provide initial follow up with clients and staff to ensure customer satisfaction. Essential Job Duties: Works closely with community partners to problem solve complex situations and develop plans for immediate and appropriate interventions. Respond quickly to conduct rapid mental status assessments, suicide risk assessments, intakes, hospital screens, on-site as requested by community partners. Provides crisis interventions on-scene with individuals (child/adult), families, and/or others present as needed, with an emphasis on assessing needs, securing appropriate level-of-care services, and minimizing trauma. Provides triage and assessments to consumers presenting for same day services. Provides triage and assessments within the community when mobile crisis response may be necessary. Conducts admission evaluations as needed, both on a scheduled and walk-in basis Coordinate and facilitate referrals to appropriate services in the community and under our Wyandot Center umbrella, including RSI. Conduct hospital admission screens and oversee the admission process. Strive to develop intervention plans that prevent or reduce admissions to jail and hospital, when other interventions can meet the needs. When appropriate, share relevant clinical information from EHR to assist with the resolution of a crisis. Assigned duties will require travel to community hospitals throughout the Kansas City Metro area, detention centers, nursing homes for mental health, law enforcement calls, RSI, or any additional community based site requesting mobile assistance. Assist with the development of diversion plans to help reduce/prevent hospitalizations and incarcerations; Model and inspire flexibility and creativity in the delivery of clinical services.   Position Requirements Master's Degree and current licensure in Kansas as a Qualified Mental Health Professional, with preference given to clinical licensure. Prior experience providing effective, efficient therapeutic services to adults facing severe persistent mental health illness. Familiarity with trends and issues, laws and regulations related to the development and delivery of therapeutic services. Ability to establish relationships with clients and treatment teams. Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills.
