Event Manager 

Location Bold Catering & Design - Catering  

The Event Manager (EM) is responsible for effectively and efficiently managing a team of servers and bar staff to deliver and achieve superb event execution for clients. The position requires an understanding of catering business and operations and must have exceptional people skills as well as possess the ability to effectively communicate with colleagues and clients. Additionally, the EM must exercise considerable initiative, independent judgment, diplomacy, flexibility and discretion in the performance of assigned duties.

The EM should possess the passion to connect with and satisfy the needs of clients and build a mutually productive and on-going relationship. They should express a desire to be supplier of clients' catering needs with an exceptionally positive attitude to serve others creating memorable experiences for clients and their guests.

Position Requirements

Essential skills and responsibilities include:

  • Knowledge of and understanding various event setups,  and, when needed, making adjustments
  • Knowledge of and understanding various styles and levels of service
  • Conducting line-up and pre-shift meetings
  • Managing, organizing and assigning roles of event staff and coaching throughout shift
  • Assessing and managing staffing needs throughout shift for labor expense control
  • Serving as point-of-contact, communicating and coordinating, among sales manager, client, culinary staff and service staff
  • Successful track record in executing setups, service, staffing, etc., from Banquet Event Orders
  • Assist loading and unloading vehicles, as needed
  • Performing cashier duties, as needed
  • Attending meetings, as required
