General Purpose

This position assists the department in carrying out a variety of safety and quality programs and procedures for all company employees. Escalates matters to the SQ director, as appropriate.

 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Accepts and processes all boot vouchers, safety Rx requests and excavation incident call-ins, to include generating damage reports and notifying relevant entities in the case of an incident
  • Ensures completed documentation related to utility incidents, including reports, photos, and relevant signatures
  • Administers employee record systems to include quality audits, safety and quality training and maintenance of employee training records
  • Performs routine filing, scanning, and archiving of records to ensure record retention compliance
  • Prepares statistical data and compiles reports (internal and external reports) on a monthly, quarterly, or annual basis; maintains other records, reports, and logs pertaining to SQ programs.
  • Develops and creates monthly, quarterly, or annual OSHA record keeping reports using Excel computer programs to extract, summarize, and present statistical data accurately from numerous sources
  • Performs data entry to maintain company and vendor systems
  • Conducts data exports and imports as required; resolves errors and record discrepancies
  • Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars
  • Coordinates meetings, events, and activities for the SQ department staff
  • Travels to multiple business locations to meet needs of employees and the organization up to 10% of the time
  • Writes and sends out weekly company safety topics. Receives and tracks signed forms for record retention

Position Requirements

Experience:

  • Two (2+) plus years of administrative experience in the safety and or quality field is preferred
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year-to-year basis

 

Additional Requirements/Licenses/Certifications:

  • Possession of a valid State Driver’s License is required
  • Candidates must pass criminal and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background checks and pass a pre-employment drug screen
