Description

Job Summary:

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of a company and making recommendations to leadership based on the company’s financial stability. The CFO reports directly to the CEO and their duties include monitoring cash flow, meeting with the CEO to discuss the best practices for company finances and coming up with strategic plans to improve the company’s overall financial health. The CFO will be responsible for the growing needs of VSolvit, including contributing to the strategic activities and managing teams performing the day-to-day duties associated. This includes formulation, development and implementation of relevant policies and procedures within the finance and accounting group. Further, this role involves being an active stakeholder in the formulation, development and implementation of relevant policies and procedures within groups which interface with the finance and accounting group.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic input to the CEO on Financial operations
  • Oversee day-to-day finance operations
  • Ensure employee timecard and expense reports bi-monthly in accordance to payroll schedule
  • Oversee and direct documented system of accounting policies and procedures
  • Provide direction and input in accounting best practices
  • Assist with M&A activities
  • Oversee management of ERP Accounting system
  • POC with outside agencies (e.g. DCAA / DCMA) for audits and inquiries 
  • Ensure the completion of periodic reports (e.g. ICE) 
  • Oversee the management of the Finance staff
  • Ensure budgets and forecasting are timely and up to date
  • Assist with pricing and proposals
  • Analyze data and provide analysis reports
  • Oversee Revenue Recognition
  • Travel to various VSolvit locations on short notice
 
Position Requirements

Qualifications:

Basic:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent 15+ years’ experience in Controller role or higher
  • 5+ years working with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and/or Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA)
  • 10+ years’ Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) experience
  • Communication, Leadership and Management Skills
  • Demonstrated quantitative, analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, project management and customer service skills
  • Demonstrated excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to identify/correct minor errors among volumes of data
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel (pivot tables, formulas/functions, macros, etc.), Word and PowerPoint
  • Experience with the Google suite of applications
  • Demonstrated small and large company payroll transaction experience
  • Ability to positively and optimistically handle multiple, simultaneous projects in a deadline-driven environment
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines
  • 5+ years’ experience in the area of FAR accounting regulations including experience assisting companies with DCAA representation and cost pool development
  • Proven experience managing financial reporting and analysis
  • Knowledge of HR / Wage & Labor laws and multi state payroll processing

 

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of Jamis and/or QuickBooks Enterprise a plus
  • Strong understanding of the strategic relationship between business and finance
  • Experience in the, technology or consumer products industries
  • Experience in a large company preferred
  • Experience with a variety of financial systems a plus
