BIS Client Services Coord. - Mfg. Extension Agent 

Description

Develop relationships within the business community that leads to meaningful engagements with Tulsa Tech to assist clients in meeting their needs. Client Coordinators will typically spend 70%, or more of their time away from a Tulsa Tech campus establishing and nurturing client relationships.

Essential Functions

  1. Collaborate with the Oklahoma Manufacturing Alliance in support of their mission by providing best in class consulting services to assigned local manufacturers. May include but not limited to consultation on manufacturing processes, engineering services, facilities and equipment, workforce development and training, state and federal grants and incentives, and other programs that promote the growth and stability of the manufacturing industry in the Tulsa area.
  2. Develop relationships and manage long-term client relationships in order to meet departmental metrics and stay abreast of client concerns and changing markets, issues and objectives that will generate ongoing value to both the clients and Tulsa Tech.
  3. Conduct needs assessment activities with clients to identify presenting concerns and underlying causes in order to devise a proposed course of action that will improve the client’s potential for success.
  4. Assist the Project Coordinator with the Training for Industry Program and EII programs, as a group or individually, to determine if a client qualifies for funding, research if funds are available, work with the client to define the project to be funded, develop the budget along with ODCTE, manage the project and report progress and completion data. Direct staff in the implementation of policies and procedures for the administration of the programs.
  5. Present comprehensive proposals for services that include pricing, resource requirements, and use of internal/external instructors/consultants, time frames, success criteria and measurements to promote client success.
  6. Exercise discretion and independent judgment in making decisions regarding the provision of services to internal and external customers and in day-to-day operations of the department. Interpret and implement policies in a manner consistent with the interests of the District. Provide advice and consultation to executive management as requested. Investigate and resolve issues as needed, represent the department and District in a professional manner to all.
  7. Perform all essential functions independently with minimal supervision at remote locations, (I.E. client locations) and with limited resources.

 

 
Position Requirements
  • Minimum of four years’ experience in project management and/or coordination, consultative selling, resource development, establishing working partnership relationships within private business sector or related roles is required.
  • Extensive knowledge or expertise in the manufacturing industry
  • BIS Certification from ODCTE is required but may be obtained after employment.   • LERN Certified Contract Trainer Certification required, but may be obtain ed after employment.
  • Oklahoma Driver’s License
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

Education Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience required; BIS Certification from ODCTE and LERN Certified Contract Trainer Certifications are required but, may be obtained after employment  
Salary Schedule SPMS  
Hiring Range Dependent on experience and education, plus additional $7,200 annual compensation for salary-in-lieu of dependent benefit coverage.
