Job Summary:

VSolvit is seeking a VSolvit has an opening for a Project Manager to support our Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) operations in Norco, California. The successful candidate will be responsible for the performance of our NSWC Corona based project in accordance with contract requirements and company policies, procedures, and guidelines. The Project Manager will be the primary face to the customer and take ownership of the business entailed in strong overall project support.  This PM will need to have an understanding of Navy IT/Cyber.

As with any position, additional expectations exist. Some of these are, but are not limited to, adhering to normal working hours, meeting deadlines, following company policies as outlined by the Employee Handbook, communicating regularly with assigned supervisors, and staying focused on the assigned tasks.

Position will work remotely.

 

Role and Responsibilities

VSolvit has an opening for a Project Manager to support our Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) operations in Norco, California. The successful candidate will be responsible for the performance of our NSWC Corona based project in accordance with contract requirements and company policies, procedures, and guidelines. The Project Manager will be the primary face to the customer and take ownership of the business entailed in strong overall project support. 

 

Responsibilities also include:

  • Manage teams of personnel in support of technical and/or non-technical requirements.
  • Manage operational and contract aspects of projects.
  • Customer and employee interaction to ensure technical and contractual performance.
  • Execute to program level financial requirements and goals.
  • Responsible for the employment, training, coaching, mentoring, motivation, discipline, and performance evaluation of assigned employees.
  • Communicates job expectations and monitors, appraises, and reviews job contributions.
  • Manage and monitor subcontractor performance.
  • Defines, launches, and drives mission-critical strategic and operational initiatives in core technical and non-technical programs.
  • Resolves problems, identifies trends, determines improvements, and implements change.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, sharing professional publications, maintaining professional networks and professional organizations.
  • Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; explores opportunities to add value to company and customers.
 
Position Requirements

Basic Qualifications and Requirements (Deal Breakers Highlighted in Yellow)

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technology, business, or equivalent field.
  • 5+ years of technical and supervisory experience in the management of multi-task, multi-function projects within the Department of Defense or Federal contracting environment.
  • Experience managing program budgets.
  • Experience managing, developing, evaluating, and supporting teams of 15+ technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Possess a working knowledge of Department of Defense and/or federal procurement practices.
  • Possess a working knowledge or Navy IT/Cyber.
  • Possess a working knowledge of the government’s Risk Management Framework, SharePoint, and Software Development processes
  • Demonstrated ability to work as an active member of a team.
  • Experience in preparing reports and briefings.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills with experience interacting and supporting government clients.
  • Ability to professionally and confidently communicate with executives, customer / partner / company
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must possess an Active DoD Secret clearance.

 

Desired Skills, Knowledge, and Qualifications

  • Government contract management experience with Navy customers.
  • 3+ years’ experience managing teams of IT professionals.
  • PMP Certification.
  • Marketing and business development experience to include proposal development activities.
