What You Would Be Doing
The Respite Manager provides daily supervision and direction to the operations of Boundless Emergency Care, Out of Home Respite, In Home Respite, and Extensions Program. Also provides input and coordination for the development of programs for individuals with complex behavior needs, residing at the county funded emergency care program.

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Responsibility for overseeing and monitoring overall operations of Boundless Respite, Emergency Care and Extensions programs.
  • Manages and takes responsibility for the provision of care of individuals served through supervision of the managers within those programs.
  • Identifies, plans and implements opportunities to support employees, individuals served, and families.
  • Oversees the implementation of CQL and ensures the completion on POMS implementation at the respite level.
  • Maintains adequate supplies coordinates medical services, appointments, nursing procedures as trained and needed with respite nurse.
  • Assists with the preparation of and operates facility within annual budget; provides for and supervises the accurate accounting and expenditure of resident funds.
  • Identifies, plans and implements creative ways to serve individuals and employees across programs.
  • Works with managers to plan, evaluate and ensure consistent and sufficient staffing to meet the needs of individuals served in each program; provides oversight for staff evaluations and corrective actions.
  • Ensures the needs of individuals served are addressed by managers and nurses and followed up in the IP in an appropriate and supportive manner; assists the respite team to provide community supports for individuals as needed.
  • Assists in the development and management of operating budgets for each program area; provides managers with regular oversight throughout the year regarding how operations are matching budget expectations.
  • Ensures that state, federal, facility, and departmental policies and standards are implemented and followed by staff.
  • Responsible for each facility, ensuring that cleanliness, maintenance, and safety measures are implemented without fail.
  • Works in collaboration with the Business Office on respite billing, ensuring that all possible units are billed and to seek collection of unbilled stays.
  • Plans for and ensures that we are maximizing the use of all programs and consistently maintaining or increasing our occupancy.
  • Coaches and teaches managers and staff about communication, culture, CQL principles, and meeting the needs of individuals served.
  • Serves as back up on-call at all times unless on approved PTO.
  • Participates in the CQL Projects Action Team and chairs committees that ensure implementation of all Basic Assurances across the organization.

Minimum Education/Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • One-year experience in residential programming
  • Five years’ experience working with developmentally disabled individuals
  • Must be able to lift, bend, push and pull up to 50 pounds

Preferred Education/Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Psychology, Education, or related field preferred
  • One year of supervisory experience preferred
  • Two years of supervisory experience preferred

Special Skils and Requirements:

  • Must be able to communicate in English – including spoken (either face-to-face or over the phone) and in writing
  • Must be detail-oriented and have competent literacy and writing, documentation, communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Must be able to use tools and equipment as required – including pushing/pulling wheelchairs, lifting consumers with hoyer lifts

Supervisory Responsibility

This position is directly responsible for managing all staff in the various respite, emergency care, and extensions programs.
