GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Under the general direction of the Arts Center Technical Director, provides support of all technical aspects related to the activities of the Lone Tree Arts Center, primarily focusing on, but not limited to, the Audio and Video aspects of each event.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: (The following essential job functions and examples of duties are illustrative only and are not intended to be all inclusive. Duties may be modified, added or deleted at the discretion of the Arts Center Technical Director.)

  • Ensure the safe and proper operations of all technical theatrical equipment of the Arts Center, including ongoing monitoring, preventive maintenance and scheduled system repairs.
  • Supervise operation of sound and video systems for LTAC's wide range of production genres. Work in conjunction with LTAC's primary FOH mixers and act as monitor mixer for Mainstage Featured Attractions. Provide FOH mix/playback operation for cultural events and rentals. Operational staff for other production areas as required.
  • Remain current with developments and trends within the industry and new equipment and systems as they come onto the market.
  • Recommend updates and changes to relevant audio and video systems in use at the Arts Center. Develop specifications and budgets for upgrades as directed.
  • Maintain and achieve professional certifications in software and systems relevant to our operations and equipment.
  • Meet with rental clients as needed and assess the technical requirements of their use of the space.
  • Train and supervise technical theatre personnel as directed.


Directly supervises stagehands as directed by Technical Director.

Position Requirements


Experience and Training Guidelines

Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

(1) Bachelor’s Degree and/or Master’s Degree in Technical Theatre; (2) 3 – 6 years of progressive professional technical theatre experience, preferably in a multi-venue arts center or in a touring environment; (3) 2 years of supervisory experience, leading diverse technical theatre teams and crews in a variety of projects; (4) training on and experience with a wide range of theatrical equipment systems, including lighting, sound, audio/visual and rigging.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Familiarity with and ability to run technical theatrical equipment and software, latest versions of LTAC lighting/sound/audio-visual and other operating systems including but not limited to Vectorworks, QLab, and Yamaha audio consoles.

  • Basic networking knowledge as it relates to Dante audio systems
  • Thorough understanding of a variety of artistic disciplines, including theatre, orchestral music, instrumental and choral music, and dance, as well as a clear understanding of each discipline’s unique technical needs.
  • Previous run crew experience in theatrical and concert audio and video.
  • Stage carpentry and demonstrated light-duty maintenance/repair skills including soldering, cable building and electronics maintenance.
  • Commitment to teamwork, leading by example, and maintaining a positive and customer-focused work environment.
  • Knowledge of computers and software applications including computerized lighting and sound systems, spreadsheets (Excel), and word processing (Word).
  • Ability to maintain irregular and/or extended working hours.
  • Ability to lift, push or pull objects up to 100 pounds using appropriate tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate and interact with all levels of personnel and visitors of the City of Lone Tree.
  • Demonstrated personal effectiveness, credibility, thoroughness, flexibility, and collaboration skills in adhering to and advancing the City’s vision, mission and values.

Pay Range $48,800 - $59,000 annually
