Status: Non-Exempt, Full-Time
Salary: $16-$19/hr DOE

EMPLOYEE OWNER POSITION PURPOSE:
The Cook is responsible for providing casual, deli-style cuisine and delivering an exceptional customer experience. This position plays a key role in maintaining and enhancing the satisfaction of all who come in contact with The Club Café, The Club Catering, and Lifestyle Events.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to teamwork, professionalism, and a positive attitude while serving the needs of our guests
- Remain familiar with and accurately describe menu items/their preparation; make suggestions and answer customer questions
- Enter orders into our POS (Point of Sale) system
- Receive/process payments from customers (credit and member cards)
- Maintain a well-stocked and organized snack bar
- Perform weekly inventory inspections of supplies and stock, and order as-needed.
- Assist with menu planning, pricing, and preparing food for special events, as designated by the Lifestyle Director
- Work with residents to prepare catering options for private facility rentals, in partnership with the Lifestyle Director
- Plan and facilitate monthly cooking class demonstrations in the Learning Kitchen
- Meal Preparation for Special Events (i.e. Taco Tuesday, Lox & Bagels, Italian Night, etc.)
- Regular Ice Machine Cleaning & Maintenance
- Assist with the preparation and design of all food menus
- Resourcefully resolve any issues that arise in The Café and own the outcome
- Utilize proper rotation techniques by dating and labeling all products and using first in-first out rotation
- Ensure proper sanitation techniques to eliminate cross-contamination
- Abide by and enforce strict health and safety standards, including those established by the state
- Other duties and special projects as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- SNHD Food Managers Card (from ServSafe, Prometic, National Registry of Food Safety Professionals, Learn2Serve or Above Training/StateFoodSafety.com)
- High School Diploma (or equivalent)
- Proficiency in kitchen administration and meal preparation – with a minimum of (1) year of experience
- Familiarity with country club/hotel/high-end operations
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Conflict resolution skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Must be a team player who is committed to delivering high-level customer service
- Adaptable and dependable with a solid attendance record
- Professional and respectful demeanor with all staff and guests at all times
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions with minimal supervision
SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and driving record in compliance with Company policy
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Use standard office equipment, including: computer, phone, copier/scanner, etc.
- Use standard kitchen equipment and supplies, including: appliances, tools, and food/beverages
- Keen hand-eye coordination, as well as an astute sense of taste and smell
- Be stationary or in motion for periods of time (often in motion)
- Relocate up to (40) pounds

SCHEDULE & TRAVEL:
- Standard hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 8:30 AM to 5 PM
- May be required to work long hours, weekends, and holidays for special events
