LaForce is looking for a Materials Planner to be responsible for coordinating metal frame orders for shop production through the means of production scheduling, inventory management, materials scheduling, and purchasing. The process includes evaluation of engineering change orders and the technical application of metal frames and door hardware. The position also involves converting job details into shop work orders.

Major Responsibilities

  • Coordinating shop work orders as a Materials Planner includes the following activities: review of orders for clarity and completeness, design feasibility, confirming adequate shop labor availability, ensuring the proper materials needed are in stock, communicating with sales and logistics on work order completion dates. Work cooperatively with the manufactured frame shop and production coordinators to maximize production for manufacturing of parts and materials for orders.
  • Work cooperatively with sales, vendors, engineering, customer service and production to assure accurate information about customer requirement of application. 
  • Assess frame type as to be ordered, manufactured, or assembled from stock, verify raw material and standard inventory availability and identify needs for production of work order.
  • Verify door hardware schedule for every frame to be complete and that the preps required do not interfere with each other.
  • Pull and update required manufacturing templates and other hardware locations for work orders.
  • Review and acknowledge all purchase orders verifying cost does not exceed buyers planned cost for the order.

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree Preferred; 1-2 years office or manufacturing experience preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to define practical problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions to solve problems.
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as discounts, proportions, percentages, fractions, area and the fundamentals of solid and plane geometry
  • Successful completion of a drug screen and background check required
