Description

Under general supervision of the Controller, responsible for managing the accounting functions of the organization. Makes recommendations to management on changes and improvements to systems.

Responsibilities:

* Indicates Essential Functions

  1. Accounting Functions:
    1. *Assists with grant reporting and grant budgeting.
    2. *Maintains depreciation and prepaid schedules for the organization.
    3. *Assists Accounting Manager with special projects as needed, including budgeting, productivity analysis, forecasting for growth opportunities, cost reporting, etc.
    4. Maintain detailed knowledge of following programs: accounts payable, purchasing and daily cash deposit and be crossed trained in those programs.
    5. *Maintains integrity of cash receipts internal control function.
    6. *Books appropriate receivables and prepares monthly invoices.
    7. *Books patient service revenue and adjustments.
    8. *Reconciles balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.
    9. *Assists with the monthly close of the financial statements.
    10. *Prepares daily deposit of mail payments.
    11. Assists with preparation of the monthly financial statements.
  2. Computer Systems Functions:
    1. Maintains detailed knowledge of accounts payable program and general ledger program.
    2. Ensures that the system provides appropriate and accurate data and is backed-up on a regular basis.
  3. Act as a backup/support to our payroll functions.
  4. Demonstrates an understanding of CHC's mission statement in performing all aspects of this position.
  5. Demonstrates a caring and helpful attitude when interacting with patients, vendors, and fellow employees. Strives to build cooperative partnerships, by treating each person both inside and outside of the organization as a customer.
  6. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other clinic personnel.
  7. Handles confidential information with tact and discretion on a need-to-know basis as specified in CHC’s Personnel Policies.
  8. Participates in maintaining departmental continuous quality improvement.
  9. Follows established policies and procedures for safety, infection and exposure control.
  10. Participates in mandatory CHC training sessions as necessary.
  11. Performs other duties as assigned.
