ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Lead marketing and support of avionics products requiring comprehensive technical product and platform/market knowledge. Requires the ability to make judgments involving complex avionics systems to capture new and ongoing customers. Responsible for the overall growth and market penetration for all product lines, including developing customer base roadmaps and strategies for ongoing product support.
  • Function as the expert source for all market research requests and support product lines and programs aligned to long-term sales forecasting. Lead market research through phone calls and emails, implement website tracking analytics and tools as required, and travel extensively to end-use customer base to establish contacts, assess inventories and evaluate service levels. Develop a database and roadmap specific for each business unit in the company.
  • Maintain understanding of product service offerings in accordance with business unit capabilities, and actively identify potential contract opportunities within country and internationally.
  • Conduct research on new opportunities, existing sales channels, and competitors in the marketplace. Establish research methodology and design format for data gathering, analyze the results produced by the research and recommend opportunities for further consideration to break down barriers and penetrate known and unknown markets
  • Meet with Business Unit Managers on a regular basis and collaborate with on key market initiatives, product obsolescence challenges, redesign alternatives and options to best serve the markets. Works closely with Vice President of Sales and Marketing to develop and deliver progress updates and communicate analytics of the customer and market landscape
  • Strategy Development: Assist with the development of marketing and business development strategies for the Business Units to include annual operation planning and long-term roadmap development based on platform and aircraft usage and opportunity. Collaborate with Mergers and Acquisitions leaders as necessary to support new product sales transitions.
  • Attend various industry association meetings and conferences and report on feedback received regarding customer base current needs and opportunities for increased service levels
  • Government Affairs: Track relevant legislation, regulation and guidance including potential impacts to platform utilization rates, production, and repair depot activities, etc.
  • Create and enhance reports and dashboards, including on-demand reporting
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

Desired Outcomes

  • Maintain relationships with end-users to drive 25% increased sales revenue annually for Business Units
  • Establish processes and data sources to be used by Sales teams to increase quoting opportunities by 50% from previous baselines

 

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's Degree, preferably in a technical discipline, with a balance of business acumen, required. A minimum of 5 years direct industry experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Domestic and international travel will be required ~80% of the time.

Other desirable qualifications include:

  • Marketing and Sales experience in the avionics, aviation, or electronics industry
  • Extensive knowledge of sales channels and end-user in the aerospace and aviation industry
  • Broad electronic and technical experience, with ability to present technical marketing materials
  • Demonstrate a general understanding of the avionics competitive landscape, products, and systems
