The company has continually grown to a point where we currently serve more than 600 individuals, and employ more than 1000 people across the state. Skill Creations is a human services agency that operates three service divisions. The ICF Division provides specialized long-term residential care to 191 individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in 15 different towns in North Carolina. The Community Operations Division provides residential and non-residential services to persons with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in their home community. The Child Development Division, with two locations in Goldsboro, provides high quality child care and preschool for children ages birth - 5 years. One center also offers after school care through age 12.   Description Starting pay rate : $ 21.25 per hour Position hours are: Full-time**Monday-Friday** 30 hours a week** 7am-1:30pm (30 minute lunch) Flexible hours will be needed for medical apppointments.  *A comprehensive insurance package including major medical, dental, vision, prescription and life insurances, along with 401-k retirement, medical flexible spending accounts, and paid time off is available for all Full-Time employees. The Direct Support Professional- Medical (DSP-M) is responsible for a variety of duties related to the overall support to individuals living in Skill Creations, Inc. facilities, who have physical and/or intellectual disabilities and /or medical care needs. This position provides or assists with activities according to the specific needs of the individuals. This includes personal care (bathing, dressing, hair care, dental care) mealtime and simple household tasks such as laundry, cleaning or bed making. The Direct Support Professional also assists with teaching communication, recreation and leisure skills and appropriate behaviors. The DSP-M works closely with the medical provider/physician, RN, facility Director and QP to assist with assuring the individuals' medical needs are met. The DSP-M prepares, administers and documents individuals' medications and/or treatments as prescribed. Other duties include providing transport and/ or accompanying to local or out of town medical appointments.   Position Requirements <ul> <li>19 years of age or older</li> <li>High School diploma or GED</li> <li>A valid driver's license</li> <li>Working personal phone</li> <li>Dependable transportation</li> <li>Proficiency in computer use for e-mail, electronic paystubs, completion of training modules, electronic medical record documentation</li> <li>Ability to lift 50 lbs</li> <li>Position occasionally requires balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling</li> <li>Ability to drive company vehicles (3 yrs. Driving experience, driving record that meets our insurability standards)</li> <li>Ability to work on holidays and during inclement weather</li></ul> **Full COVID-19 vaccination OR an approved medical or religious exemption is now required.
