JOB DESCRIPTION
Healthy Transitions Project Director
OVERVIEW: Under the general supervision of the Social Services Director, the Healthy Transitions Project Director is responsible for providing oversight and administration to the Healthy Transition Team and project goals. HT provides support services to staff and eligible youth and young adults' ages 16 through 25 years old. This position works directly with the Social Services Director, Advocates, all internal Tribal Programs, and external agencies to coordinate services to increase and develop youth and young adults seeking self-sufficiency. HT Project Director performs technical work in assisting in the planning and monitoring to ensure services remain in accordance with all policies and procedures and any regulations that govern them. The HT Project Director is responsible for providing regular reports as required by Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe and the various funding agencies.

WORK SCHEDULE: Mon-Fri hours vary
SALARY LEVEL:
POSITION STATUS: Full-time
ESSENTIAL FUNCTION:
- Provides organizational and leadership support to the Project's Transition Team;
- Skilled in management, planning, and program development at a level commensurate with the leaders of the other stakeholder systems who are also involved in developing the Health Transitions Project;
- Ability to work with a diverse array of people (youth/young adults, system leaders, educators, community and cultural leaders);
- Demonstrated understanding and acceptance of Healthy Transitions values and principles or willingness to learn;
- Ability to model and motivate others to endorse and practice the Healthy Transitions values, principles, and practices;
- Demonstrates positive experience with:
- Implementation of community-based initiatives
- Resource development
- Fostering collaboration and coalition building
- Substantial knowledge of and ability to develop:
- Child-serving systems
- Family and youth partnerships
- Cultural and linguistic competency
- Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills and;
- Ensures that all activities are coordinated and achieve measurable outcomes;
- Serves as the liaison with the evaluation team;
- Identifies key findings and develops strategies for dissemination of findings;
- Serves as the primary contact with SAMHSA, including ensuring all reporting requirements are met; and
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Experience in planning and program development, working with the leaders of stakeholder systems;
- Follows and implements policies and procedures;
- Performs other duties as assigned to fulfill Healthy Transitions mission
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED BY POSITION:
- Bachelor's or degree and/or 3 years of grant management experience with leadership roles
- Public Speaking experience;
- Pass a criminal background check;
- Must have UA testing done prior to employment;
- Must be able to comply with the Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe policies and procedures, including the Drug Free Workplace;
- Must be able to travel and work a flexible schedule as needed;
- Must be able to operate Microsoft Office Programs;
- Must have knowledge of behavior change theory;
- Conscientious and detail-oriented;
- Flexible and able to respond to varying priorities.
- Knowledge of the Lower Elwha Community/Families
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Work is mostly performed in an office setting
- 40-hour workweek
As with all positions of the Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe this position is Indian Preference in hiring.
