Works under the supervision of Food Services Chef/Manager. The Culinary Assistant prepares hot and cold foods and baked items for patients, cafeteria, catering, Prescription Meals. Portions/serves foods attractively, maintaining good portion control. Practices good sanitation techniques. Effectively demonstrates JTDMH mission and Customer Service principles.

Education: High School diploma or equivalent
Experience: Quality cooking experience preferred, food service experience preferred
Skills: Good organizational and time management skills, able to pass Culinary Assistant’s Skill Test
Physical Effort: Medium work, corrected vision, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting 50-75 pounds, grasping, repetitive motions.
Interpersonal Skills: Good interpersonal skills when dealing with all customers.
