Email Marketing Associate – Audience Engagement
Life Science Connect, a rapidly growing B2B media company, is seeking an email marketing enthusiast to help us grow and nurture our niche communities of industry professionals. In this role, you will develop and execute email campaigns and related strategies to attract new subscribers and increase their engagement in our newsletters and on our websites. Reporting to the Director of Audience Engagement and working closely with cross-functional teams, the Email Marketing Associate will craft, deploy, analyze, and optimize emails and journeys that enhance our subscribers’ experience within our communities.

What you will do in this role:

  • Manage all aspects of our automated and batch email marketing campaigns, including but not limited to onboarding, segmentation, reactivation, and repermissioning flows.
  • Write persuasive copy for email (subject lines, preheaders, headlines, body text, calls to action, etc.) and web (subscription promos, signup forms, etc.).
  • Create and update emails and templates in our no-code, drag-and-drop email builder.
  • Conduct preflight QA and testing of emails for punctuation/grammar, rendering, and deliverability.
  • Set up, deploy, and oversee emails and triggered campaign flows in our marketing automation platform.
  • Collaborate with sales and editorial teams to determine and implement optimal approaches to audience segmentation.
  • Regularly test, track, and report on variations of email messages and campaigns, including subject lines, content, layout, timing, etc.
  • Measure and analyze results of emails and campaigns and adjust for improvement.
  • Create subscriber engagement reports for distribution to market groups and other company stakeholders.
  • Monitor email marketing industry trends and best practices.
  • Identify new approaches to attract new subscribers and engage existing subscribers via email, our websites, and other channels.
 
Position Requirements

What experience and skills you will need:

  • 2+ years work experience in email marketing, copywriting, audience development, or digital publishing
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or a related field
  • Excellent copywriting and communication skills
  • Experience using email marketing software (email service provider), marketing automation technology, and web analytics
  • Proven ability to drive audience/customer demand, growth, and engagement
  • Knowledge of email marketing best practices
  • Strong analytical skills with a passion for testing and measuring results
  • Demonstrated project management and organizational skills
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Strong collaboration skills (across departments)
  • Basic HTML competency
