We are seeking an Combat Systems Technician to join our team in the Pascagoula, MS, Mobile, AL, and New Orleans, LA areas. The ideal candidate will:

  • Support the Test Division in test services including Ship Self-Defense System (SSDS)  installation, light off, software installation, troubleshooting and preventive maintenance/repair, integration repair, integration, engineering, and technical support for ships at the building yard.
  • Support the Test Division in test services including Cooperative Engagement Capability (CEC) or SPQ 14 installation, light off, software installation, troubleshooting and preventive maintenance/repair, integration repair, integration, engineering, and technical support for ships at the building yard.  
  • Provide on-site test engineering and technical support for ship industrial testing.  Establish and maintain an effective liaison with Supervisor of Shipbuilding and with other Navy, Government, and Contractor activities as required.  Participation in at sea testing is required of all test personnel. 
  • Underway Trials and travel support of Post Delivery Availabilities and Testing at other locations such as Norfolk VA, San Diego CA, Mayport FL, Pearl Harbor HI and Sasebo Japan will be required.
 
Position Requirements

Required Education, Skills and Experience:

  • High School Degree/GED; Individuals with college degrees or technical school or military certifications will be considered. 
  • 7 years of relevant experience with Ship Self Defense Systems (SSDS), Cooperative Engagement Capability (CEC), or SPQ 14 troubleshooting, repairing, and testing of associated equipment and systems.
  • Ability to support activities in a shipyard or naval facility. Some work may occur within an industrial field office, outdoors and/or aboard ship while the ship is undergoing construction, alteration, activation, overhaul, repair, and/or underway trials.
  • Walking and climbing throughout the ship, to accomplish ship checks, may be required. Exposure to high noise levels, uncomfortable temperatures, heights, or other industrial safety conditions will require use of personal protective clothing and equipment.  
  • Ability to travel (less than 10%) to support activities in a shipyard or naval facility or onboard ship while underway.  
  • Relevant U.S. Navy or U.S. Coast Guard experience in the areas of ship construction or ship repair is desired. Amphibious warship ship and/or craft construction or ship repair work experience is ideal.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
  • US Citizenship is a prerequisite.

Desired Education, Skills, and Experience:

  • Bachelor's level degree in an Engineering discipline is desired. 
  • Experience with DoD/Navy ACAT I Program
