Description

We are seeking to add another member to our team who is passionate about technology, learning and developing new skills, and providing the best experience as possible for our clients. If you have the skillsets and experience supporting and administering data center focused monitoring and management tools, Advizex has a great opportunity for you

This role will consist of an administrative tasks for monitoring, management and other software based toolsets used by our Managed Services Practice. This role will also function as a subject matter expert, and have a presales focus what will including providing demos, setting up POCs, and providing Account Executives support in positioning our tools. As a member of this practice, you will communicate and consult with internal teams and technical personnel, working together to help identify requirements for the various software toolsets. You will provide day to day management of the toolsets, continue to look for procees improvement with automation and help assist the oboarding of new clients.

As much as this is a highly technical position, communication skills are of equal importance and the candidate will be required to act as a resource for internal staff and must be able to work with a global team. Candidate must have strong experience interacting via email, phone calls and video conferences with internal staff and clients. They must also possess the ability to craft documentation for the various systems and tools, present technical topics to upper IT management in an engaging and effective manner. This is fully remote option with the ability to travel to Advizex and client locations periodically (less than 10% of the time expected)

Position Requirements

RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful person for this role is an experienced Systems Engineer who has a good mix of experience in different software applications used for monitoring and managing IT infrastructures, applications, databases and cloud providers. They should have experience in some combination of the following specific skillsets:

Required

  • Experience with monitoring and management tools along with administration of those tools
  • Experience architecting, designing, and managing the various tools for monitoring and management
  • Ability to demo and present to clients
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (Groovy, Python, etc.)
  • Familiarity with ITIL best practices
  • Experience (5+ years) with production administration
  • Comfortable being part of an on-call rotation

Day to Day Requirements

  • Perform systems administration on the monitoring and management tools utilized by the practice.
  • Perform system upgrades and maintenance
  • Continually fine tune and improve the performance of the various systems
  • Work in conjunction with your peers to onboard new clients
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and remediate issues associated within the monitoring toolset
  • Work with technical leads to develop new monitoring and management capabilities when needed
  • Provide guidance and recommendations to ensure best practices are followed
  • Assist with deployment of monitoring and management toolsets
  • Provide ongoing process improvement with automation for our tools, and deployment of our tools
  • Ability to work independently with strong time-management skills and personal accountability to complete tasks in a timely manner
  • Act as a SME and provide presales support to Account Executives in positioning our services

Positives:

  • Automation and DevOps experience is a plus
  • Experience with using ServiceNow and ITIL Framework
  • Experience with LogicMonitor, but not required
  • Some experience or working knowledge of web services (REST and SOAP)
  • Previous MSP experience
  • General understaning of how varios OEM platforms are monitored (Cisco, HPE, Aruba, Fortinet, VMWare, Oracle, SQL etc.) or at least be able to discuss with technology leads
  • General Understanding of Cloud Environments (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc…)
  • Desire to take on different challenges and learn new technologies
