495 Hotel Front Desk Lead

JOB DESCRIPTION: To direct the reservations, PBX, front desk, and accountable for all information and transactions coming from the front desk on an assigned shift. This includes reservations, Guest room assignments and availability.



  1. Has the ability to perform all functions of supervised positions.
  2. Directly responsible for directing and assisting the front desk clerks on assigned shift in achieving the front office responsibilities.
  3. Accepts and maintains accurate reservations to maximize revenue and guest return potentials.
  4. As appropriate, checks all daily arrival reservation and VIP lists, being available at check-in to ensure correct rooming and handling of special requests. Alert the hotel manager of all VIP check-ins.
  5. Handles guest complaints and comments on an assigned shift and sends copies to the Front Desk Supervisor and Hotel Manager.
  6. Maintains courtesy and service with a commitment to superb guest relations within the hotel staff, towards guests, and other departments.
  7. As Appropriate, communicates with Housekeeping on check-outs.
  8. Maintains knowledge of all events in the property as a whole.
  9. Attends and/or facilitates all mandatory meetings and training.
  10. Maintains confidentiality at all times.
  11. Is sensitive to Native American Culture.
  12. Operates within the parameters of the Leech Lake Gaming Human Resource Policy, Departmental Policy Manual and all Tribal Internal Controls (TICs), and all other applicable regulations.
  13. Secures the assets of Leech Lake Gaming and the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe.
  14. Performs other duties as assigned.


Position Requirements


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.


  1. Must have thorough understanding of all operations of the front desk and be able to offer constructive suggestions when necessary.
  2. Must be able to meet the public in a friendly, courteous manner to maintain excellent Guest relations.
  3. Must have computer experience.
  4. Must have demonstrated leadership and motivational abilities and a positive public relations attitude.
  5. Ability to communicate effectively.


  1. Physically capable of standing, sitting and walking for long periods of time.
  2. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
  3. Subject to internal working conditions, including a smoking environment.


Education Required: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)

Experience: Six months to one year related experience

Computer Skills: Must have computer skills

Certificates & Licenses: Must meet Tribal/State compact licensing requirements, pass criminal background check and submit to drug testing.
