Description

POSITION SUMMARY

This position serves primarily internal customers; however, responsibilities also include serving external customers whenever the opportunity presents itself.

This position does not involve direct day to day supervision of employees.

Confidentiality of customer information cannot be overstated. It is expected that all customer information be kept in the strictest confidence. We must do whatever it takes to ensure that our relationships with the public are not jeopardized.

The purpose of this position is to manage the Information Technology security posture and security systems of First National Bank Bemidji. This position will be expected to work across all teams to identify risks, categorize them, and follow through to ensure they are resolved.  The person in this position must have the ability and desire to constantly learn new technologies, keep up to date with the latest security trends, and research and propose strategic security enhancements to the IT area.

  • Ability to manage numerous IT security-related issues and systems
  • Ability to effectively understand and troubleshoot IT security-related issues
  • Possess strong knowledge of information security technology and business practices such as: Firewalls, Antivirus, Email Filtering, and software updating services
  • Capable of coordinating schedules, solving problems, thinking ahead, and handling multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a positive attitude and demonstrating patience

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the patch management process, including coordination with system owners to schedule patching
  • Review in-house vulnerability assessments
    • Remediate security issues or recommend remediation options to appropriate staff
    • Track security issues throughout the remediation process
    • Recommend technologies or processes to eliminate vulnerabilities
  • Manage antivirus, web filter, and spam filter products
  • Manage firewall rule changes, review existing rules for validity, and manage firewall events
  • Manage SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) systems
  • Work with third party security auditors and testers
    • Participate in preparation of test response documents
  • Conduct in-depth audits and risk assessments of various vendors and systems
  • Continuously learn new technologies and keep up to date with the latest security trends
  • Review and evaluate vendor proposals and make recommendations based on the evaluation
  • Participate in project development, implementation, and training
  • Review and recommend changes to IT and Security related policies, programs, and procedures.
  • Make presentations and conduct IT Security training
  • Promote and instruct others regarding security policies and procedures
  • Recommend IT security enhancements
  • Continuously assess and document/log security efforts throughout the bank
  • Attend required staff meetings
  • Follow security procedures
  • Support a diverse and inclusive culture
  • Abide by all policies, procedures, and expectations set forth in the Employee Manual or requested by management
