Controller / Senior Controller 


Prolific 1, a leading distribution partner across the sports and entertainment industry is seeking a Controller with broad experience to form the foundation of a top-notch finance organization in a high-growth environment. The ideal candidate will have shown success managing accounting operations in a fast-paced business environment and be eager to support all aspects of finance at Prolific 1 as we continue to grow. Strong communication, organizational and analytical skills are essential. This role will support the CEO in carrying out the responsibilities of the Finance/Accounting Department.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Responsible for overseeing accounting procedures and reviewing and implementing internal controls.
  • Develop and maintain internal audit process
  • Identify, investigate, and analyze potential operational improvement as appropriate (based on findings) makes proposals for operational changes (policy, procedures, processes, etc.).
  • Responsible for preparing, supervising and reviewing month end close.
  • Responsible for preparing, supervising and reviewing general ledger reconciliations.
  • Manage accounting team of 3-5 full-time employees.
  • Prepare, supervise and review monthly journal entries.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and year-end financial statements; analyze variances; create special reports as required.
  • Act as the primary liaison to external financial audit firms; coordinate response to all audit requests.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and other special reporting and analysis.
  • Manage and budget cash flow to ensure the cash needs of the Company are met
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly deliverables to the bank
  • Maintain relationship with banking and credit card contacts
  • Report Directly to the CEO
  • Help develop and support short and long-term operational strategies
  • Work on special projects, as requested.
Position Requirements

Required Skills:

  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and GAAP.
  • CPA preferred
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills enabling effective communication with all levels of management.
  • Superior analytical, quantitative and problem solving skills balanced with strong execution skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and quality.
  • Strong orientation toward results coupled with reputation for integrity, creativity and good judgment.
  • Must have the ability to challenge existing practices when appropriate.
  • Experienced and knowledgeable in core financial skills: ability to establish links between operational and financial data.

Required Experience:

  • Approximately 5-6 years of accounting experience, "Big 4" experience a plus, mix of public and private a plus.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills required.
  • Technical accounting research and documentation skills.
  • Experience documenting procedures and process flows, identifying operational and financial reporting risk and key control points, a plus.
  • Microsoft Dynamics GP experience
  • Qlik Sense and Tableau experience
