Job Description and Qualifications

Franklin Road Academy seeks a full-time 7th Grade English/Language Arts teacher in the Middle School. Candidates with experience teaching English in the middle grades are preferred. Exposure to and experience integrating technology into the curriculum is desired. All candidates should aspire to be a part of a collaborative faculty that resonates with FRA's mission to provide a challenging educational environment an inclusive Christian community, with an unwavering commitment to develop leaders of integrity and purpose. The English Department will meet regularly to share best practices and ensure a collegial atmosphere of growth and development. Candidates for this position should have a passion for their content area and have a desire to grow as instructors and mentors of students. Community life is a huge part of FRA, as teachers regularly attend games, recitals, and other campus events outside the classroom. All teachers at FRA are advisors of groups of 8-10 students that meet for 20 minutes daily, and teachers are strongly encouraged to lead clubs, coach teams, and integrate themselves in the school community.

Position Requirements


  • Develop curriculum to meet the needs of the class through the creation of assessments of various types
  • Serve as advisor for a group of 8-10 students that meet daily
  • Meet weekly with their grade-level team in a collaborative effort to provide well for their students
  • Meet regularly with their department to ensure streamlined curricula, expectations, and best-practice pedagogy
  • Performs general teaching tasks such as tracking attendance, assigning homework, grading assignments, giving feedback, and communicating effectively with students at all skill levels
  • Maintains regularly scheduled office hours and other faculty responsibilities


  • Bachelor’s Degree in education or related field
  • Experience in teaching middle school
  • Experience with current software, current hardware, and computer applications
  • Demonstrates a passion for and expertise in the teaching
  • Eagerness to research and learn new technologies and bring them into the classroom
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Collaborative personality
