To perform rink resurfacing, maintenance and janitorial tasks at the Runestone Community Center (RCC). Work schedules are part-time and primarily evenings and weekends.
- Operate ice re-surfacing machine to maintain a quality sheet of ice
- Performs routine opening duties and closing duties at the RCC
- Assists in building supervision and maintenance
- Perform general janitorial/cleaning duties as well as general maintenance of facility and grounds maintenance
- Clean dasher boards and glass and maintain cleanliness of maintain seating areas, locker rooms and other areas as assigned
- Assist with the preparation of facilities for scheduled programs (floor layouts and set up partitions,
- chairs, stage, etc. as needed)
- Assist with public (inquiries, ticket sales, skate rental, skate guard, skate sharpening, crowd control)
- Shovel snow as needed
- Enforce safety rules and regulations that ensures the facility operates in a safe manner
- Monitor all refrigeration equipment and keep necessary records and log books
- Assists in monitoring HVAC equipment and other related equipment to ensure proper operation
- Attend training and other staff meetings
- Adhere to and enforce safety rules and regulations

- High School Diploma
- Valid Driver’s License
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Ability to perform routine cleaning and housekeeping duties
- Ability to use hand and power tools
- Knowledge of applicable work hazards and safety precautions
- Ability to perform minor operating adjustments and recognize operating deficiencies in assigned equipment
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to perform duties and solve problems according to established policy and procedure
- Ability to communicate in a courteous and professional manner
- Ability to professionally exhibit sensitivity, patience and understanding in the course or work duties and work with individuals with a variety of diverse backgrounds
- Ability to provide a level of customer service that meets/exceeds customer expectation and satisfaction
Hazards while performing the duties of this position: climb steps, balance, bend/stoop, kneel, crouch, squat, crawl, reach above shoulder level, sit, stand, walk, push/pull up to 25 lbs. lift up to 50 lbs., carry up to 40 lbs, finger/enter data/keystroke, feel, smell, and perform repetitive motions, frequently talk, hear and drive.
Surroundings while performing the duties of this position will experience exposure to inside environmntal conditions, exposure to outside environmntal conditions, exposure to noise, dust, fumes, gases, chemicals, or oils requiring special mitigating precautions or protective gear, working in narrow aisles or passageways, work around moving mechanical parts, working in close quarters and exposure to extreme cold.
