Description

Centennial Resource Development, Inc. (NASDAQ: CDEV) is currently seeking a Manager of E&P Internal Reporting. This position will report to the Director of Financial Reporting, and the Internal Reporting Manager will be responsible for review and analysis of oil and gas capital expenditures, asset retirement obligations (ARO), proved/unproved property impairments, oil and gas property valuations based on reserves, depreciation, depletion, and amortization (DD&A), operating expenses, acquisitions and divestitures accounting, fixed assets and various other oil and gas (O&G) related accounting items. The ideal candidate will have strong fundamental O&G accounting knowledge, analytical and problem-solving skills, an organizational mindset, a strong work ethic and be able to work effectively with multiple disciplines in a fast-paced environment.

General responsibilities include:

  • Manage & review monthly accruals & analysis for capital expenditures and various operating expenses
  • Manage technical accounting matters specific to ASC 932 and the successful efforts method of accounting including overseeing acquisitions and divestitures, DD&A and ARO
  • Review and manage monthly/quarterly review and analyses of balance sheet and income statement accounts, identifying trends and anomalies to be reviewed by Senior Management and operational teams
  • Preparation and review of work papers and schedules relative to the Company’s consolidated financial statements and other reporting requirements
  • Manage the facilitation and support of independent annual audits and quarterly reviews of the Company’s financial records
  • Establish monthly close timelines & objectives and ownership over the related close calendar
  • Communicate with multiple disciplines effectively
  • Maintain an effective control environment compliant with Sarbanes-Oxley as it relates to journal entries and analysis
  • Provide support for special projects and perform other duties as assigned
  • Manage relationships with and supervise external consultants relating to various state and local taxation

Knowledge and Skills include:

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills including solid attention to detail
  • Thorough understanding of US GAAP and knowledge of ASC 932 Successful Efforts Oil and Gas Accounting preferred
  • Must possess exceptional teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate effectively
  • Superior ability to prioritize activities, multi-task, and meet all internal and external reporting deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills across various disciplines and levels within the organization
  • Must possess a strong work ethic and demonstrate a positive/flexible attitude in a fast-paced work environment
  • Perform responsibilities effectively and efficiently with an expectation of constant process improvement
  • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work environment (remote and office) with minimal supervision

 

Compensation & Benefits Information:

  • Salary range is approximately $130,000 - $167,000 depending on specific experience*
  • Other forms of compensation for this position include:
    • Target bonus of 20-30% of base salary and any eligible overtime wages (discretionary based on company and individual performance)
  • This position is eligible for long-term incentives in accordance with annual compensation cycle

*Please note that Centennial may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range provided. Company takes into consideration a candidate’s education, training, and experience, as well as the position's work location, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value, including seniority and merit systems, and internal pay alignment when determining the salary level for potential new employees. Position Requirements

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent required, CPA preferred
  • 7+ years relevant work experience (Upstream O&G/public accounting), oil and gas industry experience required
  • Microsoft Office advanced proficiency required (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Quorum, FloQast, Assent, and Spotfire software experience useful, but not required
