While there is room for variance, this is typically a two-year program that provides opportunities to develop facilitation skills and curriculum writing through floor programs, school programs, homeschool classes, workshops, and camps. Responsibilities: Lead hands-on informal science activities for students in Spanish and English Development, prototyping, and delivery of experiences and programs in Spanish and English for visitors, including programs for children, families, adults, and groups. Work closely I&L Fellows and full-time Museum staff to prepare and present pre-developed science programs Maintain safety and well-being for up to 15 students at a time General classroom and materials management Set up activities and clean up the classroom before and after the day Monitor classroom supplies and request replenishments when needed Evening and weekend work required Attend weekly staff meetings Additional duties as assigned   Position Requirements Requirments: Spanish language fluency Passion for informal education, particularly related to science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), computational thinking, and/or design thinking Willingness to work with and handle vertebrate and invertebrate animals An interest in informal science discovery Excellent communication skills Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure with a positive attitude and creative problem-solving skills Ability to spend the day actively engaging the students in online classroom work and following pre-written outlines Must be able to be on their feet for up to 6 hours at a time, walk distances of up to one mile over varying terrains, be able to lift 25 pounds Ability to work outside in all weather; classes will spend some time outdoors. Comfortable working with online and remote learning platforms such as Google Classroom.
