 Position Description

The Center for Policing Equity is looking for a skilled Administration & Operations Coordinator

with a passion for social justice issues. This role will support the Center’s Administration functions (e.g., Operations, Legal, IT, Events, and Facilities) and will report to the Senior Director of Administration. The ideal candidate is proficient in problem-solving and independently prioritizing work, developing and executing project plans, anticipating the needs of the team, and demonstrating flexibility and drive to support the team. 

The Coordinator will manage the day-to-day Administrative functions and systems within the organization. Additionally, the role will serve as a thought partner to the Senior Director of Administration and will evaluate and improve processes to support CPE’s rapid growth. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, mission-driven non-profit. 

Key Responsibilities

  • General Administration
    • Facilitate onboarding and offboarding of employees at CPE
    • Monitor and manage the organization’s switchboard and inbound communications
    • Manage general procurement for the organization
    • Manage employee travel systems
    • Manage the organization’s Institutional Review Board
    • Analyze, improve, and codify processes to support CPE’s growth
    • Drive and execute on special projects that fall under Administration & Operation
    • Contribute to event and retreat planning; identify vendors and lead the planning of organizational events
    • Assist with developing and updating presentations, spreadsheets, and other documents as needed; prepare materials and agendas for team and leadership team meetings
  • Collaboration with other Operations functions
    • Support the Sr. Director in optimizing cross-functional processes with Finance and Human Resources (e.g., optimizing employee onboarding, travel and reimbursements processing, etc.)
    • Support the IT director in managing IT systems and other IT initiatives
    • Identify areas of improvement for Administration processes and systems in order to provide recommendations for optimization


Qualifications (required)

  • Passionate about CPE’s mission
  • Superior attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Proactive in surfacing problems and finding solutions
  • Experience analyzing large data sets and summarizing key takeaways
  • Ability to manage multiple projects involving different teams
  • Ability to work independently, translating high-level goals into execution plans
  • Advanced proficiency with Google Suite and Microsoft Office
  • Proficient in identifying complex problems and escalating solutions to supervisor for decision-making and resolution 


Other Relevant Qualifications (desired, but not required)

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • 2-4 years experience as an Operations Coordinator, Administrative Manager, or similar role
