Export & Import Specialist

Description
  • Coordinates and consolidates shipments to ensure lowest cost transportation is used by analyzing company and customer needs, researching transportation methods, and auditing carrier costs and performances. Coordinates activities of exportation and some importation of Barrett related products.
  • Import/Export Barrett products according to import/export guidelines. Ship Barrett products domestically related to law enforcement, military and US distributors shipping internationally. Prepare documents for shipments.
  • Coordinate military shipments using Shipping Instructions Request (SIR) with Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA).
  • Prepare rate quotations to customers and overseas agents for transportation costs.
  • Maintain contact with customers, carriers, vendors, and domestic and overseas offices. Maintain logs and compile information on routes, rates and services on various vendors. Maintain contact with transport points of contact to solve & follow up on day to day issues such as delays, damages, refunds etc.
  • Maintain a current spreadsheet of all international open orders, ship dates and export/import license expiration dates. Maintain a record of all Import and Export shipments handled in International Sales.
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Perform other duties as directed by supervisor or management. Adherence to company/industry policy and procedures.

Position Requirements
  • Maintain knowledge of all rifle systems, parts, accessories, product usage and maintenance. This requires utilizing the website, spec sheets and in-house training.

  • Maintain a general knowledge of ATF, U. S. Department of Commerce and U. S. Department of State regulations. Maintain and process ATF Forms and applications.

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and two years of experience as required. Four year college degree in related field preferred.
