Description
  • Work with department heads to determine staffing levels.
  • Maintain a relationship with Stonehill and Fidelity by attending and scheduling annual meetings.
  • Assist with higher level position initial interviews which includes the pre-employment screening process.
  • Lead and develop Junior HR staff on interview etiquette (i.e., how to “sell” Ace Endico Corp to new employees).
  • Implement new policies and procedures within HR:
  • Conduct exit interviews to reduce turnover.
  • Update employee handbook.
  • Review Paychex Flex semi-annually and make sure Ace Endico is utilizing it to its fullest potential.
  • Review all HR practices and policies to ensure legal compliance, industry standards, and Ace Endico culture is being met and improved.
  • Create a uniform employee review process to be completed annual by department heads.
  • Maintain Paychex reviews in system and in personnel files.
  • Begin an ongoing review/communication method for managers (which include but are not limited to formal reviews).
  • Annually review job descriptions at Ace Endico to ensure their accuracy and if they meet hiring needs.
  • Work with managers on issues such as corrective action, write ups, hiring, terminations and how to handle difficult situations and determining when to ask HR for advice or to handle a situation.
  • Write a second handbook for managers with rules of being a supervisor/manager.
  • Develop a leadership training and development for managers and supervisors.
  • Create a development program for supervisors about career building within their departments.  
  • Keep up to date on changes to HR law, wage law, minimum wage changes, sick leave rules by state (especially for NY, CT, and RI).       
  • Research salary trends, hiring trends and industry standards, and best practices to stay competitive within the job market.
  • Maintain relationships with staffing agencies and recruiters.
  • Serve as the key advisor and Subject Matter Expert on challenges related to restructuring and termination, wrongful discharge, ADA, and other HR-related claims.
  • Constantly brainstorm for new ways to improve the department and company and present ideas for policy and procedure plans to executive management.
  • Oversee payroll, recruiting, compliance and benefit administration.
  • Stay up to date on FMLA, ADA, NYS and federal labor and minimum wage laws.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree minimum in HR or related fields.
  • Experience HRIS systems such as (i.e., ADP, Paychex, Paycom).
  • Experience with Paychex Flex is a plus.
  • Spanish speaking required.
  • Experience with payroll, employee relations, and benefits or related fields.
