Together we build our future! Our Cogent facility located in Golden, CO is currently seeking an experienced and hard-working Manual Machinist / Service Technician for our service department. This position will be responsible for manual machining to repair rotating equipment as well as installing, servicing, and maintaining all types of electro-mechanical equipment such as submersible pumps, centrifugal pumps, motors, controls, etc. to customer satisfaction. This position is also responsible for maintaining the proper documentation of work performed. Essential Responsibilities: Perform all tasks in a safe and responsible manner. Read and interpret CAD drawings, blueprints, and instruction manuals. Uses gauges and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements. Uses precision tools, machinery, and equipment such as lathe, vertical lathe, vertical milling machine, drill press, horizontal mill, hydraulic press, chop saw, band saw, push and pull broaches, and a variety of cutting tools and equipment. Fabricate and shape parts such as tools and machine parts out of metal, plastics, and composites. Properly and safely selects, aligns, secures, and removes holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines. Recognizes, deploys, and properly uses inserts, fixtures, and tooling. Performs daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment. Evaluate experimental procedures and recommend changes or modifications for efficiency and adaptability to setup and production. Document precision quality repairs in our current reporting software. Comply with all quality policies, specifications, regulations, and instructions.    Position Manual Machinist / Service Technician   Position Requirements Qualified candidates will have the following knowledge, skills, and abilities: A high school diploma or GED is required and a degree from a Technical or Vocational school in Manual Machining, Mechanics or Electronics is preferred. Excellent manual machining abilities using power tools such as drill presses, milling machines, lathes, and bench grinders. Electrical experience required (110-230/460Volts) Previous experience in the installation and repair of piping systems is preferred. Excellent proven electro-mechanical repair and troubleshooting skills. Previous experience in installation, maintenance, and repair of submersible pumps or other rotating equipment generally found in water and wastewater facilities preferred. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required. High-level communication and organization skills, as well as an attitude toward positive customer service required. Basic computer knowledge required. Ability to read and review blueprints. Ability to work as an “Emergency Responder” subject to overtime and occasional overnight travel on short notice required. Ability to manually lift and maneuver heavy objects, parts, equipment, and materials required (up to 100 pounds). Ability to work outdoors under extreme weather conditions required. Ability to take on unfamiliar tasks and quickly find ways to find solutions to problems.
