Title: Biological Drug Development Intern

Location: Gaithersburg, MD

Our Research and Development Scientists are transforming the industry. Currently the Research and Development function is offering an internship opportunity to conduct research to support established research programs and projects in collaboration with other Research & Development scientists.


Support CAR-T process optimization


Screening cytokines to increase  efficiency of CAR-T cells generation.

Position Requirements
  • Lab aseptic skills, basic cell therapy knowledge and techniques
  • Analysis of experimental samples including: cell counting and lymphocyte phenotyping with flow cytometry;

  • Primary T cell culture

  • Enrolled in a bachelor's program within biology, life sciences, or related field
  • Good communication skills, writing and record-keeping
  • Must take initiative, demonstrate leadership skills, be eager to learn
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Ability to relocate to Gaithersburg, MD for the summer
  • Minimum GPA: 3.0

To participate in the AstraZeneca Intern Program, students must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Enrollment in a full-time undergraduate or graduate program, returning to the academic program following AstraZeneca assignment
  • At least 18 years of age prior to the scheduled start date
