Title: Biological Drug Development Intern

Location: Gaithersburg, MD

Duration: 12 weeks

Optimize the efficiency of transposon/transposase-based systems on CAR-T transfection

Core Responsibilities:

  • Primary T cell culture
  • Analysis of experimental samples including: cell counting and lymphocyte phenotyping with flow cytometry
  • Literature review to build knowledge and support experimental designs
  • Presentation of research at departmental meetings and to the full Company during a poster presentation
  • Thorough documentation of experiments in an electronic lab notebook
Position Requirements

Position Requirements:

  • Literature review 

  • Basic laboratory techniques

  • Cell culture, cell-based assays, and flow cytometry knowledge

  • Good documentation, writing and communication skills are required

  • Enrolled in a bachelor's (rising junior or senior), chemical engineering, biomedical engineering, biological/life sciences or related field.

  • Good communication skills, writing and record-keeping

  • Must take initiative, demonstrate leadership skills, be eager to learn

  • Proficient in MS Office Suite

  • Ability to relocate to Gaithersburg, MD for the summer

Students must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Enrollment in a full-time undergraduate or graduate program, returning to the academic program following AstraZeneca assignment
  • At least 18 years of age prior to the scheduled start date
