Our Research and Development Scientists are transforming the industry. Currently the Research and Development function is offering an internship opportunity to conduct research to support established research programs and projects in collaboration with other Research & Development scientists. Goals/Objectives: Project: Facilitate the Implementation of Raman Spectroscopy in Cell Culture Development Design and implement a system to multiplex a Raman spectrometer to multiple bioreactors, enabling more efficient data collection. Design models of specific analyte concentrations using data collected from the Raman. Responsibilities:  Operating 3L bioreactors. Operating the Raman. Model creation using SIMCA or preferred software.   Position Requirements A rising sophomore, junior, or senior enrolled in a bachelor's program within biology, chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering, biochemical engineering, biological engineering, biomedical engineering, robotics, or related field. Good communication skills, writing, and record-keeping Must take initiative, demonstrate leadership skills, be eager to learn Proficient in MS Office Suite Ability to relocate to Gaithersburg, MD for the summer Aseptic technique experience Knowledge of python or other statistical analysis software Basic engineering knowledge.
