Overview

Code 2 Career is looking for qualified staff to support the iOS development training program being provided at our training location serving up to 30 youth through the summer of 2022. This program is designed for participants to build a solid foundation in understanding Human Interface Design principals, Design Thinking process to brainstorm and ideate an App idea that will result in a clickable app prototype. The app will be designed in collaboration of small team of 3-4 to solve a challenge within the community. Students will have an opportunity to talk with community experts, learn more about becoming an app developer or UI/UX designer and basics of Swift coding language.

This program will meet at Ponyride South – Lloyd H. Diehl Club located at 4242 Collingwood Street, Detroit, MI from Monday through Thursday. Students will earn $15/hr for their participation.

Learning Objectives

Participants will discover how to explore and navigate using Swift Playgrounds and Keynote

  • Create a clickable App Prototype using Human Interface Design principles.
  • Develop knowledge and skills required for creating a successful app prototype using knowledge of app development and Keynote.
  • Learn how to build a test an App Prototype
  • Develop presentation and pitch skills to present app prototype to a variety of community judges.

Requirements:

  • Participants must be between the ages of 18-24
  • Participants must be Detroit Residents
  • An interest and passion for problem solving
  • The willingness to learn or improve current skills
  • A mind open to innovation and creativity
  • All BGCSM Staff 18 and over must be COVID-19 Vaccinated
