Description:
Work is located at Naval Surface Warfare Center – Indian Head. Situational telework may be authorized. Most of the job will require on-site presence at NSWC-IHD - Flexible part time hours.
Requires experience in electronics design, circuit design, assembly and repair of printed wiring assemblies and circuit boards, soldering expertise and machine shop experience a plus.
Regular Job Duties:
- Provide engineering and technician support in the areas of testing energetic materials and items in the following areas
- Support the design and development of prototype ordnance components for energetic systems.
- Support the development of prototypes, engineering development models, and proof of concept demonstrations for Air Weapons applications, components, and systems as well as workflow management and metrics.
- Interface and troubleshoot with 4 Channel Capacitive Discharge Firing System (CDFS).
- Use Solidworks Computer-Aided Design (CAD) workstations to protoype mixed mode Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs).
- Prepare Technical Documentation.
Specific Requirements Include:
Certification in J-Standard 001 soldering specification preferred
Experience in printed circuit manufacturing and repair techniques using computer aided manufacturing tools.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum Education: High School Diploma or Technical School Completion
The candidate must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance.
