Description

We are looking for Contract Simulator/ Ground Instructors to join the Omni Air International Team. We are seeking highly talented and capable aviators and offer a flexible schedule and highly competitive compensation.

This position is for Advanced Flight Services (AFS), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Omni Air International.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for aviation instruction to pilots consisting of ground school and simulator training for Initial, Recurrent or generic aircraft training courses
  • Measure training progress of students, objectively and subjectively, within the established aeronautical curriculum
  • Conduct training tasks including Lesson Planning, Classroom and Simulator set-up, upkeep of current aviation publications and instructional training materials
  • Act as Second-In-Command pilot in multi-crew simulator situations
  • Evaluate progress and performance, issues and problems, and prepare necessary documents and reports
  • Participate in all company safety programs
  • Maintain currency with regards to annual ground training, Proficiency Checks, Proficiency Training, Line Observations, and Standards Observations
  • Other duties as needed.
  • Must reside in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex

 
Position Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to communicate effectively; must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English
  • Excellent presentation and listening skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

An unrestricted Airline Transport Pilot Certificate (ATP) to act as the PIC for the B-767

Completed at least one air carrier’s initial training and qualification curriculum under 14 CFR part 121

At least one year of experience as a full flight simulator instructor in a 121, 135 or 142 training program

Prior military ground and flight instruction experience may be considered in lieu of experience

 

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY

  • Arm and hand steadiness and finger dexterity enough to use computer/office equipment
  • Occasional lifting, carrying, and pulling of up to 50 lbs.
  • Sit – 80%
  • Stand – 10%
  • Walk – 10%

 

MENTAL CAPABILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to handle numerous activities at once and complete in a timely manner
  • Work with limited supervision and possess an impeccable attention to detail, excellent customer service and organizational skills required
  • Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, gathering and analyzing information skillfully
  • Makes day-to-day decisions used to support the operation which impacts the department’s credibility
  • Ability to compose outlines, memoranda, basic reports, and instructional information
  • Ability to communicate basic instructions and guidelines, requires ability to hear and speak effectively
