The Utility Aide will support the Frederick Living Mission of caring for and enriching the lives of older adults with the following essential responsibilities:

  • Set up dish machine.
  • Fill pot sinks.
  • Wash dishes, glasses and silver.
  • Wash pots and pans.
  • Maintain areas in a clean-as-you-go condition.
  • Check trash cans continuously.
  • Remove and buses coffee shop dish racks.
  • Keep dish and pot areas orderly and clean.
  • Return clean dishes and pots to the proper storage areas.
  • Deliver and pick up room service trays.
  • Sort silverware frequently.
  • Sweep and mop all floors in the kitchen, coffee shop and service area.
  • Break down dish machine, and clean.
  • Clean and organize pot sinks.
  • Promote clean, safe, and neat environment for residents, self and staff.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of fire safety procedures, and assists with evacuation of residents to a safe location in the event of fire and other emergency.
  • Cooperate with staff of other departments in performing job duties.
  • Abide by the organizations code of conduct in the performance of their duties
  • Perform other duties as required.

Physical Demands:

  • Able to stand on tile floor and maneuver independently and safely around work area in an eight hour shift.
  • Capable of lifting of 50 pounds or more using proper lifting techniques.
  • Able to see, hear and speak adequately (with or without accommodations) to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Has sufficient manual dexterity to operate a fire extinguisher and dish washing machine.
