Location: South San Francisco, CA

We are currently seeking undergraduate seniors, or someone pursing their Masters/ PHD in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Biology, etc. for an internship assignment during the summer of 2022. 

Core Responsibilities:

  • Learn about the translational sciences within biopharmaceutical industry while taking part in a key bioanalytical project that will support clinical trials.
  • Gain and/or expand on laboratory and data analysis skills in a fast pace industry environment which will further growth in the career as a scientist.
  • Design and investigate strategies to overcome interferences present in a cell-based drug-neutralizing antibody detection assay. This assay will be used to support critical immunogenicity risk assessments of a drug currently in clinical trials.

 

Primary Duties:

 

  • Design, develop, troubleshoot, and implement immunoassays to detect anti-drug antibodies in biological matrices.
  • Design, develop, troubleshoot, and implement cell-based assays to detect neutralizing anti-drug antibodies in biological matrices.
  • Utilize multiple technology platforms including MSD (electrochemiluminescent), luminescent, fluorescent, or colorimetric plate readers.
  • Conduct bioanalytical sample analysis and data review to support upcoming clinical studies in a GLP-compliant laboratory environment.
  • Present work and data at regular small team meetings and larger group meetings.
 
Position Requirements

Position Requirements:

  • Basic lab experience and lab safety knowledge required (e.g. pipetting, solution prep, assays, following SOPs/kits, etc.).
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve challenging lab problems.
  • Strong biology background and understanding of antibodies and/or antibody  therapeutics.
  • Familiar with data analysis and data presentation.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organization, and communication skills.
  • Good communication, organization skills and meticulous attention to detail are essential.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0+
